2B - Brandon Lee

Tailoring your tactics is something people do everyday in their lives. As human beings, we must change the way we do things in order to get what we want. In the play, Juror 8 uses different strategies of persuasion in changing the ideas of each juror member. For each person, he uses a different tactic in order to get their vote on how the defendant is not guilty. This can also be used in real life situations when we to get something out of people. Majority of the time, this will be used by appealing to people's senses. For example, if someone would like to give me a puppy, they would use different forms of advertising based on my background to get me more interested in buying the puppy. Without tailoring your tactics to your target, it would be difficult to persuade and change people's opinions in the real world.

  1. I agree with your statement about tailoring your tactics. In life if you are trying to get someone to admit to something or get someone to do what we want you need to use persuasive strategies. As what Juror 8 did to his fellow jurors. I believe in tailoring your tactics, but I don't believe this strategy always works. What if how you persuade them wrong or what if they still don't agree with you because your claims aren't strong enough. Other than that I strongly encourage tailoring your tactics to change people's opinions.

  2. I agree with you that tactics need to be changed depending on what person you're talking to. I also like your use of advertising as a real world example because of how much that field of work tailors its tactics to sell to different people.
