Getting to the bottom of complex issues takes time and effort. This lesson is applicable to Twelve Angry Men due to the difference in opinions present in jury room. The backgrounds f ranch of the jurors while not making them biased does taint their views on different subjects. The tainting of their views causes friction in discussion and deliberation over the case. In turn this is why cases should be given time and thought to work through everyones opinions fairly and clearly (although thats not really done in the book). As seen on page 27 when the jurors try to each explain there reasoning.

  1. I agree making decisions over tough issues takes time and how the discussions and deliberations cause it to increase the amount of time and effort. But I believe the jurors were being biased on their decisions. Because most of the jury had their decision made except one, this caused a large discussion which extended many arguments between each other. If everyone's opinions were conversed "fairly and clearly", I agree that the case would've been more smooth.

  2. I agree with you when you say that tainting their views causes friction. But the only reason why friction it present, is because Juror 8 brings up points in the case that could be ruled out, that no one else thought about. Through out the case, Juror 8 rules out the testimony of the witness of the old man which moves more of the jurors from thinking the defendant was guilty to thinking he isn't guilty.

  3. I believe also that to resolve a complex problem, takes much time and effort. In this situation, to be able to have reached a verdict, the jury had to thoroughly exam all evidence and or demonstrate some of it as well. Even if it was not accepted by all jurors, it did help the jury reach a verdict.
